Expert Answers about Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel

  • Recommended RV Storage Cover For A 2018 Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel
  • For your 2018 Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel I recommend the Adco Olefin HD All-Climate + Wind RV Cover for 5th Wheel Toy Hauler - Up to 43' Long - Gray # AD89ZR. The Olefin HD travel trailer cover works best for long-term storage in all climates. The top panel constructed of Olefin HD fabric blocks harmful UV rays that can cause cracking and fading, beads water on contact, prevents dirt and dust particles from reaching trailer surface, and eliminates black streaks and corrosion caused...

  • Can the Reese Goose Box Be Used With a Ram 3500 Short Bed
  • The newest Reese Goose Box, like the # RP85FR, can definitely be used with your Ram 3500 that has a 6-1/2 foot bed. However, this will not extend back any further than a standard pin box and will measure 17-3/4" from the center of the coupler to the center of the first mounting hole, so you will need to be careful when turning. One way to help get more room between the front of your trailer and the back of the truck's cab will be to use an offset gooseneck ball, like the 4" Offset Ball...

  • Replacement Trailer Brake Assemblies For a 2011 Forest River Sierra 5TH Wheel Camper
  • I recommend the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit # 23-458-459 for your 2011 Forest River Sierra 300RL. These will only require you to adjust the brakes to ensure they are set correctly when you install them. After that they will self adjust themselves as the brake material wears away. This will ensure your brakes last longer and will keep you out from under the trailer adjusting the brakes. The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K will provide you with a new hub/drum...

  • Solera Replacement Awning Fabric for my Dometic Powered Awning
  • Yes the Solera 16' Replacement Awning Fabric part # LCV000334400 is a suitable replacement for many different types of awning frames. It is extremely likely that this is the one you need especially with your 5th wheel being so new. Older models may bring up issues but a 2016 should work out really well. It can be returned if it does not work out. The return shipping would not be covered however. Check out the linked installation video to confirm the connection points match your current...

  • Replacement 24" Propane Pigtail for 30 lb. Bottle
  • The connection needed to the propane is a type 1. I recommend the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Stainless Overbraid, # 100833-24 with a Type 1 fitting that has an internal back-check and your needed 1/4" male inverted flare. We also have the MB Sturgis Propane Hose w/ Back Check, # 100473-24-MBS that is basically the same hose connection but without the overbraid. These are Made In USA products.

  • How To Choose the Correct Replacement Axle for a 2014 Forest River Sierra 365SAQB
  • In order to choose the correct replacement axle for a trailer you'll first want to start with the weight capacity. The weight capacity can be found on the axle tag in the center of the beam. Then, you'll need to measure the hub face (center of hub face to center of hub face) and spring center (center of spring center to center of spring center). This will then give you the info needed to pick out the correct replacement axle for your trailer. I have also attached a video I did to help others...

  • Replacement Landing Gear Motor for a 2008 Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel
  • There will be two options for replacing the motor on your 2008 Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel's landing gear. I couldn't find any information on which exact one you will have, so it will be necessary for you to measure your current motor. With that being said, you will need to measure from center to center of the mounting posts diagonally. If you end up getting 4-3/16 inches, you will need the Stromberg Carlson Replacement Motor for 6,500 lbs Electric Landing Gear # LG-196308. However,...

  • Pin Box Upgrade Options for Lippert 1621 Pin Box
  • The information you provided is perfect! The weight rating and the "1621" number you found is exactly what I'd need to know to confirm replacement pin box options. The Lippert options we have include the Rota-Flex # LC328330 and the Trailair Flex # LC328492. The Rota-Flex is basically a step up from the basic 1621/1621HD pin box # LC1191191 in that the head can pivot some to help with ride quality. The Trailair uses a rubber compound in the head assembly as well as an air bag and shock...

  • Replacement 6K Axle Leaf Spring Recommendation for a 2014 Forest River Sierra 5th Wheel Trailer
  • For your application I recommend going with the Double-Eye Spring for 6,000-lb Trailer Axles # e94SR which is a 6-leaf setup with the 26" eye bolt spacing you're needing. This is the only size available in the 6K weight rating and 26" bolt centers so it's really the only way to go. If you don't think you're U-Bolts are long enough for the extra leaf springs then I recommend checking out the U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-8 which comes with 7" long U-Bolts. Attached are some videos for you to check out.

  • Can Furrion Vision S be Installed on Fifth Wheel without Pre-Wiring
  • Hey Doug, yes you can install the Furrion Vision S 3 Camera system part # FCE48TASL-05 on a fifth wheel that is not pre-wired. It comes with a mount that you can put on the rear of the trailer and then you'd basically just need to run your running light circuit to each of the cameras and you'd be good. Basically the pre-wiring is just the running light circuit ran to the rear of trailer so it's not a super elaborate deal.

The # RM-2460-50 you were looking at is a single add on kit for a triple axle trailer, and isn't what you would use on your tandem axle trailer. • Recommended Wheel for a ST235/80R16 Tire w/ a 8 on 6-1/2 Bolt Pattern
  • The Aluminum Bobcat Trailer Wheel item # LHSO513B you were looking at would be a great option for your 2016 Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel. This is a 16" x 6" rim with a 8 on 6-1/2 bolt pattern. You will have no issues mounting a ST235/80r16 tire on this wheel. Each one has a 3,960 lbs capacity. I have linked our entire selection of compatible wheels below in case this one doesn't match the style on your 5th wheel trailer.

  • Recommended Bulb Seal Replacement For A 2019 Forest River Sierra Fifth Wheel
  • The channel on the # SR37FR would be approximately 1/4" too large so you'd want to go with the Rubber Bulb Seal for RV Slide Out - 1" C-Channel # SR84FR instead. This bulb will fit much closer to your 13/16" channel. I do recommend drilling a small hole every few feet through the outer bulb and using a screw to secure the base of the bulb seal to the track once in place.

  • How To Determine What Style Of Pin Box You Have On Your 5Th Wheel Camper.
  • Nice question, I have some information for you below: First thing you need to do is figure out why style of pin box you have. Pin boxes are not universal and can be different from unit to unit even if the camper came from the same factory. If you look at your pin box there should be a plate or sticker on it that will tell you the type and style of pin box. Some of the common types are Lippert 0719, 1116, 1621, 1621HD or a Fabex 665. If you cannot find this information you can call the...

  • Recommended Amber and Red LED Trailer Light
  • The closest comparable red and amber LED option is the Optronics Thinline LED Trailer Fender Light w/ Bracket Amber/Red Lens item # MCL67ARB. It measures 4-1/16" long x 1-1/4" tall x 1-1/8" thick. You would run the power wire from your trailer to the light and the ground wire would be ran to the hardware attaching the base to your trailer.
